Artist Call Details
DAAC team and local artist Jon Little are calling all artists of all skill levels and media! The premise of this show is that artists are given a random playing card from a deck, and they interpret and create a 11″x14″ piece inspired by that card. Any media or subject inspired by the card is accepted.
There are 54 slots available in this show, so if you are interested, apply quickly. Here is the rundown:
- Interested artists will submit the form; this is a first-come, first-serve art show. There are only 54 slots available, so sign up early. Artists who sign up after all cards are assigned will have the option to be placed on a waitlist.
- Each artist who signs up will be assigned a playing card at random. There are 54 cards in the mix, including 52 standard playing cards and 2 jokers. The card you are assigned will be yours to interpret however you see fit. You cannot request a specific card. What you get is what you get! That’s half the fun!
- All finished pieces must be 11″ x 14″ and ready to hang when completed (with a wire or sawtooth hook on the back). All media, materials, skill levels, and interpretations are welcome as long as they fit within those parameters. If you require additional consideration (e.g., electricity, special hanging instructions), please communicate that with the organizers. If you are unable to complete your assigned card, please inform me as soon as possible, and I will assign it to another artist.
APLICATION DEADLINE:
Artists must fill in form as soon as possible and will be automatically accepted, and participation will be closed when all deck cards are picked. First come first served. Art drop off will be June 29th.
