Artist Statement
Sara Eliot Steuer is a conceptual artist, freelance writer, editor, and curator based in Dubuque, IA. Working in any medium sufficient to achieve the desired expression, she often employs mixed-media, painting, and experimental video, and writes for a variety of publications locally and nationally.
As a DAAC volunteer, she is especially drawn to gallery installation work and enjoys helping bring creative opportunities to the community. Believing in the intersectional power of art and activism, she is a core member of the DBQ Pride Planning Committee, while serving on the outreach committee for the LGBTQ Iowa Archives + Library in Iowa City, and volunteering with One Iowa.
