This exhibit will feature artwork by Hispanic and Latino American artists and artisans of all mediums\, including 2D\, 3D\, crafts\, photography\, digital art\, video\, and more.\n\nThe exhibit will take place on the first and second floor galleries of the Smokestack From September 30th through October 14th and it will also be a part of the Dubuque LatinX Fiesta\, a large outdoor community event celebrating the diverse background of the Latinx culture of the city and the region.\n\nThe Dubuque Latinx Fiesta on September 30th will feature Latin American live music\, performances\, food and vendors.\n\nArtist Talk by Narciso Elizalde\nStarts at 7:00pm.\nGet ready for an inspiring night as we kick off the event with an artist talk by Narciso Elizalde\, a skilled sculptor originally from Totoapa\, Mexico.\nNarciso’s intricate sculptures\, crafted using polymer clay\, are both visually stunning and deeply rooted in traditional Indigenous spiritual practices. His work offers a glimpse into the ancient wisdom and artistic expressions that have shaped Mesoamerican culture for centuries. \nArt Performance by Victor Cayro\nStarting at 9:00pm (21+)\nAs the evening unfolds\, we will also have the pleasure of witnessing a live painting performance by the renowned cartoonist\, Victor Cayro.\nKnown for his dynamic and striking subject matter\, Victor’s art has graced prestigious platforms such as printedmatter.org\, Kramers Ergot 6\, Project Superior\, Typhon\, Rub The Blood\, and more. Habrá comida latina\, música en vivo de diferentes bandas latinas\, bailarines representando danzas típicas\, vendedores y exhibición de arte Latinx. Las primeras 50 personas recibirán tacos GRATIS de El Paisano. ¡TODXS SON BIENVENIDXS!\n———\nThe festival (family friendly) will take place outside and inside the Smokestack (on 7th street) and in Dubuque’s Courthouse parking lot. There will be Latin food\, live music from different Latin bands\, dancers performing typical Latin American dances\, vendors\, and a Latinx art exhibit.
